Busy Weekend

This little man has had a busy weekend.

On Friday he had his first immunisations. It was awful. I feel like the worst Mum in the world. His shocked & terrified face will forever haunt me. When we got home John slept for 3 hours and once he woke up he was so upset and inconsolable he couldn’t even feed. Cue stripping him down to his nappy and crawling into bed for intense skin-to-skin! He’s feeling much better now though but has been a bit sleepier than usual over the weekend.

On Saturday John turned two months old and finally got to meet his Uncle Hen and Aunty Fi, who moved to Australia when I just found I was pregnant. He was so good for them; so chilled out and giving lots of smiles! And on Saturday night we stayed at Granny and Papa’s - our first night away from home! John was so well behaved and slept really well too.

Of course, today is Mothers Day and we spent the day with Granny. Papa is away down south for a couple of weeks so the 3 of us waved him off at the train station then went for a wander and some coffee. I also fed John in the John Lewis Parents Room which was fantastic - great idea! And we’re now home. John’s asleep and I’m taking some time to chill out.

Iain’s away for a few nights this week so it’ll be the first time I’ve really been completely on my own with John. I’m nervous but also looking forward to the bonding time. We’ll miss Daddy so so much though.
