Yesterday it was such a nice day that I decided to take John to the beach. We’re literally a stones throw away from the beach but we’ve only ever walked along the Promenade, so I decided that we’d venture onto the sand and give John his first real taste of the seaside.
He was surprisingly content. My Mum tells me that the first time my feet touched sand I screamed as I didn’t like how it felt. John however, wasn’t phased at all.
We sat on the beach for about and hour and a half, watching some boys play football and all the people around building sandcastles. John bounced in the sand (with a little help from me) and tried to start a conversation with a toddler near by but he soon started getting a bit grizzly. I think he was a bit tired but also a little bored so went went to the play park on the Promenade, where John had his first time on the swings! He was a little unsure at first but soon started smiling.
John was then ready for a nap so I popped him in the buggy and we took a nice donder along the Promenade. I stopped for a little while in the shade to reapply my sun cream and let John cool down a little.
Once the weather started to cool down a bit we headed home. Overall it was a lovely day. My wee boy is great company!
