5 Months.

Five months. Five whole months. Where has the time gone? What happened to my tiny 6lbs 12oz newborn boy? He’s grown before my eyes.

A few people have asked about Johns current stats so here goes;
• Last week he weighed 14lbs 5oz & measured 65cm. This means his weight gain has slowed but that he’s had a growth spurt length wise. I’m trying not to worry about his weight but being a Mum, you worry about everything.
• He can happily sit unassisted but when he gets distracted, he falls with a thud so Mummy is always close by waiting to catch him.
• His toes are also the tastiest things in the world right now, he just can’t get enough of them.
• Johns become an expert at grabbing; he sees something, he wants it, he’ll do everything in his power to get it.
• We’ve given up on rolling from back-to-front. It’s as if he managed it once, ticked it off his to-do list and moved on. He’d much rather shuffle himself everywhere on his back.
• He’s still sleeping through the night. 6.30pm-7am(ish), occasionally waking for his dummy.
• I’m 99% sure he’s ready to try some food. We’re going down the baby-led route and this baby is leading me to believe he wants to start. We’re getting his high chair next week and we’ll go from there.
• He laughs! It’s still not a regular thing. We tend to get a little giggle at most things but a laugh is still a bit rare. He always laughs for his Aunty Kirsty and when you pretend like you’re going to drop him, though.

It seems like everyday he learns something new. And although I miss my totty wee sausage, this is definitely my favourite stage do far.

  1. He such a cutie but remember that kids just loves to put anything they get their hands on right in the mouth at this age and it is very important to keep an eye all the time. Specially with kids toys that include tiny parts.

  2. Cute baby and i agree with nashi that in this age kids have no sense of good and bad that's why they eats all thing which will too harmful for children in the term of germs and bacteria .
