Dear John,
This week we bought you a Fisher Price Remote Controller so how about you try pressing the Pause button instead of insisting on the Fast Forward?
In the past few weeks you’ve come leaps & bounds. It seems like each day you develop a new skill or that your personality comes out even more.
You’re a master of rolling now and within seconds of being put on your back you’ll have flipped to your tummy. Not only that, you’ve started pushing your bum up and getting on your knees! The arms are still firmly on the ground but I’ve no doubt they’ll soon follow.
You’re also a lot more aware of the world around you. You respond to your name (most of the time) and know who your Mummy & Daddy are. You also interact with other babies but your favourite baby of all is the one in the mirror. And who can blame you? You’re turning into such a beautiful wee boy!
One of my favourite developments in your personality is your temper; and boy-oh-boy, have you got one! I quite often give you day-to-day objects to explore such as napkins, empty bottles, cutlery… And god forbid I take them off you! Today you had a meltdown in the shop because I took peeled a chewed up receipt from your hands.
Thankfully there’s one thing guaranteed to distract you though; your favourite toy - Sophie the Giraffe! You even get excited when your Granny & Papa’s puppy squeaks one of her dog toys thinking it’s your Sophie.
Oh, and anything we have, you want! Phones, food, keys… You think you should have possession of them all. Anything that you can reach automatically belongs to you and you’re even attempting to get things out of your reach but get very upset when you can’t quite get them.
Having said that, you’re such a contented soul (most of the time…) and everyone who meets you comments on how you’re such an easy baby. Although motherhood is always exhausting, I thank my lucky stars for such a perfect little boy. A boy who doesn’t fuss if he’s in his buggy all day. A boy who can happily play alone whilst I do the dishes. A boy who doesn’t mind random people on the street cooing after him. A boy who is always happy to oblige his Mum with hundreds of squishy cuddles!
Each day you amaze me and I can’t wait to see they boy you become.
Love you always, Mum x.
