7 Months.

Today marks John turning 7 months old. It’s a scary prospect. My baby is now closer to being a one year old than he is a newborn.
But each day I’m more and more amazed by this tiny little human. He’s speeding through babyhood at an insane rate.
7 Months Stats.

Weight: 15lbs 15oz. Still a titch for his age.
Length: Approx. 69cm.
Johns now rolling like a champ, comfiest sleeping on his tummy. He’s getting close to getting a crawl - he’ll lunge himself from sitting into a crawl stance but he’s still remaining stationary, resorting to his tummy to make any movement. And even then it’s just going around in circles, not going forward it backwards yet.
Weaning is going fantastically. John loves his grub! We’ve tried too many foods to list but we’ve yet to come across anything he’s turned his nose up at. His particular favourites are flat peaches, pita bread pizza & eggy bread. And we’re now at the stage where the only bits that aren’t eaten are floor rejects or the too-small remains (as he’s still working on his pincher grasp).
My favourite recent development has been the relationships John’s formed. He certainly knows who his Mummy is; whenever I leave a room he moans but when I return he giggles. Daddy is the source of endless entertainment though and the one he’ll do anything to wake in the morning. Then there’s Granny & Papa who both get endless smiles. And the cutest of all, he has his favourite toys, especially Beans the Lion and Pooh bear, both whom he loves and tries to carry everywhere with him.
Although I’m still mourning the teeny tiny newborn he once was, this is definitely my favourite stage so far. I love how interactive John is becoming but also how independent he can be too. 7 months is going to be a big month for us; John has his settling in period at nursery, I’m doing some more Keep In Touch days at work and we’ll be making the big move to his own room.
I need to savour these baby days before they’re all gone.
