10 Months.

Time needs to slow down.

2012 has been the quickest year of my life. The most blessed year I've ever experienced. And soon it will come to a close.

This perfect little baby is rapidly turning into a boy. Not only is he losing his baby looks but his independence & his personality are growing at an insane rate.

The biggest recent development has to be John's mobility. His crawl is perfected (& super charged!) and he cruises around the house with ease. I'm forever finding him eating loo roll in the bathroom or emptying my tumble dryer in the bedroom - boy cannot stay still for long but he's always easy to find, thanks to the path of destruction he leaves on his travels. There's also the whole letting-go thing that he's starting to attempt, although I'll continue to discourage this a little longer -- he's far too young for walking! That being said, he loves nothing more than whizzing around the house while we hold him by his hands. Time to pinch Granny's Vtech Walker, perhaps?

My absolute favourite development, not just recent, but ever? Kisses! Big, open mouthed, sloppy, baby kisses! Grabbing your cheeks, pulling himself forward and leaving slavers on your face. Every time, my heart is a puddle on the floor. It's the definitive proof that John is becoming aware of different emotions and how to physically express them -- a skill I hope to nurture as he grows.

In other news, we now have tooth number 3, with 4 not far behind. His weight is now up to 17lbs 15oz - still small for his age which makes me wonder if he'll ever be big enough for his Group 1 car seat.

I'm in complete denial that it's only one more month until he turns 11 months: His last milestone month before his 1st birthday. I have started making plans in regards to his party but right now I'll carry on pretending it's just a party and isn't really in celebration of his birthday.
