But I'll shave it for later.

Sometimes being a mother is great fun! Like when your son receives a moustache dummy for Christmas from one of your best friends and you get to laugh at them hysterically (& take funny photos!). Sometimes it’s not so fun. Like when your son has a chest and ear infection, which makes you want to cry like the baby they are.
Things have been pretty exhausting here lately. Since starting nursery John has had croup, gastroenteritis and various colds & sickness bugs, so as you can guess, I was thrilled when the doctor prescribed anti-biotics and ordered more time off from nursery. And the news of another bout of illness wasn’t easy on any of us. I had an emotional phonecall with my Mum on whether we had made the right decision to send John to nursery & if all his illnesses were my fault. Iain had a breakdown in the middle of the night when John couldn’t get back to sleep. And John hasn’t known what to do with himself full stop - which usually resorts in a screaming baby.
Thankfully on day 4 of anti-biotics we’re seeing a big improvement. His temperature has finally gone back down to normal (without the aid of alternating Calpol & Nurofen) and his appetite is slowly coming back. We’ve reverted back to co-sleeping this week so we can all get a little more rest but John is currently settled in his own bed - although we’ll wait & see if that lasts all night.
