When I leave for work in the morning, you cry. It's only 3 days a week but each time I go, the tears come on and the heart break starts -- and that's from me!
Even though you're spending the day with your Granny, or better still at nursery, you still don't want your Mummy to go. It's tough and I find myself questioning our choice to be a working family each morning but I know deep down it's what's best for us all.
The extra money is one thing but the time apart does have a positive affect too. Absence makes the heart fonder and all that jazz. Not only that, working gives me a bit of sanity -- some adult conversation and time out the house. I miss you dearly but feel I can be a better parent when I am with you because of it. Plus you learn so much at nursery and you just love those days spent with your Granny -- I think you must just forget how great your days can be when you see Mummy walk out the door.
Three days a week works well for us. It means the majority of my time is with you, with just a small enough break from each other to make that time sweeter. And it's much more doable for me that the 6 days your Daddy fits in -- goodness knows how he manages it!
So don't cry when I leave you in the morning. I'll be back at 5.30pm, like always and after two more days, we'll have four more fun filled days together. So don't cry my silly sausage, I'll be back soon. Promise.
Love Mummy xo
