A few weeks ago, whilst I was working, Daddy took John to their favourite place, Innerleithen, to watch some downhill mountain biking and enjoy a walk up the hill.
John was apparently very well behaved and even did one better than Mummy and made it right up to the top of the 3.81km downhill trail - walking all the way himself. And as always he had a great time watching the bikes whizz past them and unnecessarily laughed at those who fell off. Thankfully though, no one was hurt - a great relief considering it was a race for Minors - something that John will no doubt be taking part in within years to come.
As a mother, it's difficult to imagine my precious wee boy taking part in such a fast-paced, potentially risky activity but if his current interest in bikes develops into anything like his Daddy's, I'll have little to no say in the matter!

Have you any experience in downhill mountain biking?
Is there any interests that your child has, that as a parent, fills you with potential dread?
