Brothers.

"Sometimes being a brother is better than being a superhero."

John has taken to being a big brother better than we could have imagined. From the moment he met David he's been fascinated by this little mini-person. In particular he likes beeping his nose, stroking his head whilst he feeds and bringing him all his rattles to "play with" (read:sleep beside). Never have I uttered the words, "gently... softly..." so many times in a day than as I do now. But what John doesn't like about David? When he's sick - never have I seen John get so upset over something so trivial. Perhaps he's actually crying over the wasted milk?

This afternoon I hovered at the livingroom door, watching as John carefully placed David's fallen blanket back over him, then crawled onto the couch and planted a big kiss onto his head. My motherly heart. Of course I know I've got the days of sibling rivalry and brotherly "love" to look forward to but for now I'll cherish these more peaceful days as these two build their bond and John continues to embrace being a big brother.

Sometimes being a Mum is pretty damn rewarding.
Sometimes...
