Living Arrows 5/52.

"Ganny Bee". God knows why John calls his Mickey Mouse's (...or should that be Mickey mice?) "Bee" but he does. We have "Don's Bee" (John's Mickey), "Gandad Bee" (Grandad's Mickey), "Dayday's Bee" (David's Mickey) and most recently, "Ganny's Bee" (Granny's Mickey). Each named after who he associates them with.

Don's Bee (lying underneath him in the photo) is the favourite, the one who goes from place to place & that he sleeps with each night. Then there's Dayday's Bee, who's actually David's musical baby Mickey. And Gandad's Bee, which is a huge Mickey, nearly as big as John, that he got from his Grandad for Christmas. Finally there's Ganny's Bee - for a kid who's obsessed with Mickey, he was extremely wary of this little mouse! John seems to have picked up some sort of fear of toys that move & talk, which I'm not 100% but I think relates back to his first memorable encounter with Santa - or I should clarify; a singing, dancing, musical Santa. He was terrified. Completely inconsolable.

So when Granny said she'd got John a dancing Mickey Mouse for his birthday, we were all met with mixed feelings. He loves the Dance Star Mickey app, which is basically videos of a similar dancing Mickey, but he even freaks out when we put batteries into his beloved Iggle Piggle. When he opened the Mickey present on his birthday, we were straight away met with reluctance. But 2 weeks on & he's come around to the idea of Ganny Bee. He still won't pick him up or carry him around the house but he'll now press the button & dance along. Small steps.
