This Day Last Year.

On this day last year, I packed up our changing-bag and caught the bus & train to my home town. On the 15th of February 2012, we lost the leader of the Lorimer family, my Granny Chris. The day after, I took John (who was just shy of 1 month old) to North Berwick to give his Papa lots of newborn baby cuddles. Today we did the same, expect it for for 1 year old cuddles.

Just two days before on the 14th of February 2012, we had been in the hospital for John's first & last meeting with his Great-Granny. From the day John was born we'd thought Granny Chris had some sort of bug and decided it'd be best not to expose John to it. Unfortunately this resulted in an emotional meeting which was far from the perfect photo opportunity I'd always imagined.

However, I'm glad John got to meet his Great-Granny, even if his appetite did mean it was only for a short while. And although it wasn't in her chair, with the TV too loud & a cup of tea beside her, we'll still tell him of all our memories with the legendary Lorimer, to the point he'll feel her knew her as well as we do.

John, my Dad and I took some pink tulips to the graveyard today. Pink tulips because they were the flowers she had in the hospital when we visited. And of course, the snowdrops were growing perfectly Granny & Papas grave.
