"...Share the beauty and magic of childhood..." - What Living Arrows is all about. And this is the beautiful, magical,
reality of childhood. Soup & strawberry stains on his jumper, pizza & snot on his face, messy hair & a finger up his nose (and yes, he did eat it). At the moment, I've given up on trying to get nice posed or even natural photos of John. He either runs away, pulls a face, or does something like stick his finger up his nose. But then I realised, why should a photo of him picking his nose be a bad thing?
It's real. It's what he does - quite often in fact. Just like his pizza cheeks & strawberry stained jumper, it very much sums up his childhood at present. A messy, dirty, snot nosed toddler. It might not be obvious beauty or magic but then who really likes the obvious of these things? He's a beautiful little boy, snot & all. He can find the magic in even the most disgusting of tasks, like removing bogeys from his beautiful little nose! And all that aside, it's the perfect photo to dig out for his 21st birthday.
Awww i LOVE the simplicity of this photo, you've captured the 'real' side of childhood perfectly! We're at the same stage with Riley who point blank refuses to pose for any photos or look at the camera when i ask him too! I'm hoping it's just a phase! xxx #livingarrows

Thanks, Vikki. I hope it's a phase too. Breaks my heart when he tells me not to take photos! xo
DeleteThis is really what childhood is all about! I love it! #LivingArrows
ReplyDeleteHear hear, Emily! xo
DeleteMy son is always like this in the house messy =P I love how honest your photo is #livingarrows
ReplyDeleteI think it's definitely a stereotypical boy thing. John is forever covered in some kind of muck! xo
DeleteHaha he'll love you for posting this one when he's older :-)
ReplyDeleteBeing covered in mess & picking your nose is what being a child is all about. Posting embarrassing photos of your kids on the internet is what being a Mum is all about ;)
DeleteI'm so glad it's not just my little boy that seems to spend half his life with his finger up his nose! He tries to hide now but doesn't do a very good job.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a gorgeous photo of a not very gorgeous thing to do.Good skills! x
Thank you, Colette. John too could definitely be contender in the World Nose Picking Championships! He isn't so good at hiding it however... xo
DeleteI love this photo and my youngest has literally just found her nostrils herself, but I think they make the best photos, dont you think? Childhood at its core and so beautiful at that!! #livingarrows
ReplyDeleteAgreed, Debs. I do love a candid photo & this is definitely that! xo
DeleteHaha, he's gorgeous, even with the finger up his nose!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Fiona. Think we need to work on his modelling skills though... xo
DeleteI love that you added "yes he did eat it!" So awesome! Love this shot!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Meg. It's his favourite snack ;) xo
