A new toy for John. Or perhaps it's an old toy for Daddy... This weekend, Iain became overwhelmed with the need to get John Scalextrics. It came around when I mentioned I'd seen a set in a charity shop window with two "Jayne's cars" (aka. Mini Coopers but in John's world they're Jayne's - a family friend who drives a Mini - car). All of a sudden, Iain had to have it. Unfortunately, he was just too slow and someone else snapped up the set for the bargain price of £20 so instead it was time for plan B - raid Granddad's attic for Daddy's very own old Scalextrics.
I don't know who is more excited by the prospect of the latest toy to dawn John's already car covered floor - well that's a lie, Daddy is obviously more excited! For now though, the Scalextrics will remain switched off, as despite spending our Sunday driving around Edinburgh in search of somewhere that sold them, we've yet to obtain a working car for the 20+ year old track (much to Daddy's disappointment). So I'll enjoy the peace & quiet just a little bit longer.

Awww someone beat you into buying it! At least you have plan B and looks like it works! 2 boys enjoying their toy =P #LivingArrows
ReplyDeleteHaha! My dad bought me a scalatrix when I was about four, I wasn't interested at all, it was so for him!! x
ReplyDeleteHaha boys and their toys eh? (Do the men in our lives ever really grow up?) I know Keith is secretly ecstatic that he's got two boys who follow in his obsession with all things transport related. He and Riley would spend all day together playing with the cars, diggers and trucks if they could! Beautiful photo though sweetie xxx #livingarrows
