We're now half way through 2014 (
eh, when'd that happen?!) and it seems like a appropriate time to look back and update on my
New Years Resolutions. There was 4 things I really wanted to do this year and so far, it's been going pretty well!

Continue to make our house a home.
Progress is small but it's there. I've re-painted our entire flat, updated photos & wall hangings, added a few more homely touches & we got a new mattress (hurrah!!!). I've still a list as long as my arm of things I want to get done before the end of the year including making a new roman blind for our bedroom, sewing some new cushion covers for the living room & framing some of the boys artwork in the kitchen. And I know if I don't get these done before returning to work the likelihood of it ever happening will drop significantly but we'll get there in the end.
Bets on me being like my Mum & wanting to redecorate & start enough as soon as it's all done?
Couch to 5k.
This one took a while to take-off with not actually starting until March but I'm now just two runs away from finishing! Technically, given the Couch to 5k is a nine week plan, I should be finished by now but between post-SPD hip-pain in the beginning, various cold & illnesses, & having a break whilst Iain was on holiday, I'm a little behind. But I'm doing it! Which for anyone who knows me in real life, it's a huge deal. I'll have a separate post on my Couch to 5k journey up once I've finished the plan, for anyone thinking of giving it a go for themselves. I highly recommend it!
Continue to work on my finances.
It's difficult to pay off debts when on Statutory Maternity Pay but I've been managing. Plus I've been following Mr Martin Lewis's advice and become a credit card tart! I'll be back at work soon which is when it's time to really knuckle down and start paying off all my debts. The aim is to be completely debt free before John starts school (so 2-3 years). I've also been trying to be a savvier (
is that a real word?) shopper and think before I buy.
Take more photos.
I've not managed to take as many photos as I'd like but I have kept up with Living Arrows each week & Siblings each month. I've also had a couple of days when I've gone out with my camera & tried a few different things, other than just photos of the kids.
How are you doing with your New Year Resolutions?
Stay tuned for the next update,

DeleteYou are doing so well! I only had one resolution and that was to keep fit and so far I am sticking to that, but I had a little blip on holiday! ;) x
