Deep Sea World.

I woke up on Sunday and took one look at the house -- a pig sty wasn't even an equal comparison. So we had two choices; dedicate our Sunday to gutting the entire flat (& getting annoyed at everything/everyone in the process) or abandon the house and seize the day.

I chose the latter.

We'd already taken John to Deep Sea World when he was around 4 months old; for whatever reason, Iain thought it'd be a great idea but of course, John slept the entire time. This time around was far more successful with him actually noticing the fish and wanting to bang on the glass in excitement.

It was lovely being able to watch my boys dashing about in excitement, both eager to take everything in all at once. Iain holding Johns hands so he could walk around the underwater tunnel, holding him over the rock pool tanks so he could see the fish below and John returning his Daddy's smile when the fish and lizards followed their hands across the tanks.

Days out as a family are the best days of all. Even when you get home and realise the house doesn't in fact clean itself.
